Why choose wax fabrics?
I chose the Wax fabric because despite not having an African origin it is in the collective imagination and is associated with Africa. Most continents tell the story of their past with statues, books or museums, but on the African continent fabric can often replace these media where several prints are considered “classic” because they were given messages, such as insulting anecdotes , warnings, religious messages and several other possibilities. The simple use of certain fabrics convey a message so characteristic that it is instantly understood by the population, and I confess that I love this non-verbal language of the fabrics.
